Dracut Scholars: Zeke Haradji, Caroline Mercier, Matt Rossetti, Kevin Carney and Sarah Mercier were part of the large contingent of New England Pop Warner All American Scholars from Dracut.
The 18th annual New England Pop Warner Scholar Banquet was recently held at the New England Patriots West Putnam Club House in Gillette Stadium. Twenty-nine Dracut Pop Warner cheerleaders and football players were saluted by Patriots cornerback Duron Harmon for their accomplishments on the field, in the classroom and outside of school. Dracut Pop Warner had the most All American Scholars in its history and led the New England Region in honorees, including five First Team All-American Scholars, 15 Second Team All-American Scholars and nine Honorable Mention All-American Scholars.
New England Pop Warner also recognized the top scholar athlete in each grade for both cheerleading and football. Dracut really impressed the crowd and former Patriot Scott Zolak when three Middies were named as No. 1 scholar athlete in the New England region. Each of these outstanding student athletes, Caroline Mercier, 7th grade cheer, Ezekiel Haradji, 8th grade football, and Kevin Carney, 7th grade football were presented with their 2014 awards and special limited edition hooded sweatshirts. Ezekeil received a $500 scholarship from Eastern Mass Pop Warner and the $600 Stacy Smith Scholarship.
