DRACUT -- A 69-year-old Dracut driver is in serious condition in a Boston hospital after driving off the road and striking a tree on Parker Road on Monday afternoon.
The report of the single-car accident came in at 5:32 p.m., according to police. The female driver, whose identity has not been released, had just turn onto Parker Road from Wheeler Road, police said. She was first transported to Lowell General Hospital's Saints campus and then via medical helicopter to Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. She was in serious condition when she was flown, police said.
There was no update available on her condition. The driver was the sole occupant.
Police continue to investigate but are looking at medical reasons as a potential cause.
