The Dracut Girls High School Basketball Team defeated the No. 4 ranked 17-3 Whittier Tech 62-52 in an exciting contest. The Lady Middies hustled all over the court in what was the final girls' basketball game to be played in Dracut's Paul A. Merrill Gymnasium. Dracut did an outstanding job of containing the Wildcat's talented 6-5 center in this thrilling victory.

Dracut seniors Emilee Kacavas, Erin Reynolds, Jenn Dowling and Gabby Grant were escorted onto the floor before tip-off and presented flowers from their teammates as this was their last home game.

Head Coach Peter Witts thanked the senior class for their hard work and leadership with these remarks. "The Class of 2013 will always be remembered by me and the coaching staff as a group that always put the team goals above their own personal goals. Their work ethic throughout the entire season was second to none. They made my transition back into high school basketball an easy and pleasant one to a season I will always remember."
