Merrimack 24

Tyler Pacheco's 4 steals and 3 points helped led the Dracut Boys 6th Grade Travel Basketball Team to a 34-24 victory over Merrimack in the first game of the Pelham Christmas Tournament. Dracut entered this highly competitive tourney without the services of their high-scoring speedy guard Aise Pream and rebounding machine power forward Kevin Carney.

The depleted squad stepped up and performed well as every Middie player recorded as least 1 steal in this solid win. Dracut grabbed a comfortable 19-8 first half lead behind the fine passing of Mitchell Monette (6 assists, 8 points) and excellent board work of Cam McCullough (8 rebounds, 9 points).

The balanced Dracut offense was a complete team effort as William Peters (4), Josh Hastie (3), Jeremy Gray (2), Colby Manzueta (2), Jovan Aigbekaen (2) and Jaeden Hylton (1) also scored points. Michael Patterson had 3 rebounds as the Middies improve to 8-3 this year.

Methuen Blue 12

By holding their opponent to 3 second-half points, the Dracut Boys 6th Grade Travel Basketball Team mauled Methuen Blue 31-12 to go 2-0 in the Pelham Christmas Tournament. Mitchell Monette was hot from outside hitting 3 three-pointers with Michael Patterson (6), Josh Hastie (5) and Cam McCullough (5) also tallying points. Colby Manzueta (5), William Peters (2) and Jaeden Hylton

(1) rebounded well as Jovan Aigbekaen (3) and Tyler Pacheco (10) made steals for the 9-3 Middies. Dracut lost another player due to injury as hard-nosed guard Jeremy Gray (6 points) hurt his wrist late in the contest.

Dracut 61

Pelham Gold 15

The Dracut Boys 6th Grade Travel Basketball Team turned in their best game of the year as they pulverized Pelham Gold 61-15 to improve their record to 3-0 in the Pelham Christmas Tournament. The 10-3 Middies continued their outstanding

defensive play in the tourney with aggressive zone protection. Offensively, the boys played unselfishly - making numerous passes and smart decisions with the ball. Every Dracut player scored and collected a rebound in this contest. Colby Manzueta was a force inside with 9 points as Cam McCullough (10), Jovan Aigbekaen (8), Mitchell Monette (8), Josh Hastie (6), Michael Patterson (5),William Peters (5), Jaeden Hylton (5) and Tyler Pacheco (5) contributed to the final score. More importantly, the boys displayed good sportsmanship throughout this one-sided contest.
