LOWELL -- A 42-year-old Lynn man was arrested in Lowell Friday morning by Boston police officers who had a warrant charging him with the August 2013 murder of a woman whose body was found on an East Boston street.
Chhoeut Chin was taken into custody by members of the Boston Police Fugitive Unit one day after Boston detectives obtained a warrant charging Chin with murder.
He is charged in connection with the death of Sherry Bradley, 32, of Lynn, whose body was found on Border Street in East Boston on Aug. 1, 2013, according to Boston police.
Boston police said the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner didn't rule Bradley's death was a homicide until April of this year.
Police said an "extensive investigation" since then led them to apply for a warrant for Chin's arrest.
Lowell Police Superintendent William Taylor said the arrest was made without incident, but he deferred to Boston police when asked where in Lowell the arrest was made. A Boston police spokesman could not immediately be reached for comment.
Jake Wark, a spokesman for Suffolk District Attorney Daniel Conley, said Chin will be arraigned Monday in East Boston District Court.
Chin was booked in Lowell before being turned over to Boston police, who have him in custody in Boston.
