BEDFORD -- The 2014 "Dollars For Scholars" Phone-a-thon of the Bedford Chapter of the Citizens' Scholarship Foundation reached more than 2,400 Bedford and Hanscom residents, who pledged $37,411, according to chairpersons Alma and Silvester Pomponi.
MITRE Corp., was the site of the telephone fund-drive efforts of 82 Bedford High School over a recent weekend. Student volunteers recruited by Social Studies teachers and coordinated by Christine Butler, assisted in on-site phone-a-thon activities. The student callers worked in two-hour shifts.
Twenty adult volunteers stuffed pledge envelopes sent to 4,838 residents.
Senior callers were: Victoria Barry, Kaitlin Buccolo, Analisa Chap, Evan Dombkowski, Patricia Gavelek, Alaina Greaney, Demetra Green, Julie Hamilton, Stephanie Hills, Allyson Kudenchak, Brenton Lussier, Sheila McElroy, Jacqueline Nguyen, Michael Parisse, Kira Perzel Mandell, Dylan Scharff, Aishwarya Shah, Marlena Simoneau, Michaela Simoneau and Nevin Vidyarthy.
Junior callers were: Allison Barnes, Gabrielle Barnes, Gregory Barry, Josh Berenson, Rachel Bianco, Elliana Boebel, Arianna Dines, Monika Dharanipragada, Liam Doyle, Connor Green, Addie Hurwitz, Rebecca Inz, Rebecca Labitt, Deanna Lobo, Erica Luniewicz, Alexis Lusty, Abigail Munoz, Jared Olmeda, Jackie Pinney, Jessica Radlo, Hayley Scanlon, Eric Spector, Rodney Tamukedde and Peter Whallon.
Sophomore callers were: Taylor Anderson, Rachel Arnold, Michael Barkan, Ryan Barnes, Chris Bowers, Lauren Granada, Jacqui Hale, Avery Kaplan, Faith Kim, Avi Miller, Sarah Nosal, Finn O'Connell, Elizabeth Regan, Emily Ricci, Aeriel Smith, Alyssia Smith, Benjamin Stacey, Jake Turner, Erin Venuti and Laura Wei.
Freshman callers were: Melanie Albrecht, Ari Austin, Felicia Barber, Liam Carpenter, Matt Clement, Vinny Dee, Stephen Dresel, Savannah En, Michelle Gong, Aaron Hamilton, Mary Manning, Jeanette Manship, Becca McIllece, Caroline Ngooi, Sam Ryan and Parker Taggard.
The money raised through "Dollars For Scholars" is the principal source of funds for college scholarships awarded to graduating seniors by CSF. This year's scholarships will be presented May 28.

Any graduating senior from Bedford High School, or any Bedford resident who is graduating from any other secondary school or who completes home-schooling, is eligible for scholarship aid. Aid is available for students going to four-year colleges, two-year colleges, or to schools for technical, vocational or specialized training.
