MARSHFIELD -- Jon Ryan, Jimmy Ryan and Michael Stewart liked winning Division 2 state wrestling championships last winter so much they decided to do it again.
Div. 2, 3 wrestling
All three repeated as state champs Wednesday night, leading Dracut to third place. The Middies finished behind Winchester and North Andover.
Stewart and the Ryans all went 4-0 en route to their titles.
Jon Ryan defeated Nick Stearn of Winchester for the 120-pound crown, 10-2. In the 138-pound final, the undefeated Stewart blanked Mikal Kalib of Needham, 6-0.
Jimmy Ryan bested Tom Griffa of Silver Lake in the 145-pound final, 5-1.
Also starring for the Middies were Stig McElhinney and Jaycee Hebert.
McElhinney went 5-1 at 182 pounds, while Hebert posted a 4-2 record at 170.
Greater Lowell
Junior Ryan Wiitala advanced to All-States by placing sixth at 113 pounds.
WAKEFIELD -- Tyngsboro High earned fifth place at the Division 3 state wrestling championships.
Alec Golner finished second at 160 pounds to spark the Tigers, who finished with 79 points. Pembroke was the team champion.
In the final, Golner dropped a heartbreaking 6-4 OT decision to Colin Clafin. Also headed to All-States are Jake Gallagher, Kevin Morris and Scott Camacho. Gallagher placed third at 170, Morris took third at 106, and Camacho claimed sixth at 132.
Wilmington
Advancing to All-States were Cody Halladay, who placed third at 145 pounds, and Gaven
