Each year, the most academically accomplished Pop Warner kids compete for First Team Academic All-American status. The process to select the top 35 football players and top 35 cheerleaders for each grade nationwide is a tough one and begins at the association level and up through each of the eight Pop Warner regions to the national level.

More than 9,700 qualified All-American Scholar applications were submitted this year from the more than 400,000 kids participating in Pop Warner. The First Team All-American Program requires students to be among the top 2 percent of all Pop Warner participants, maintain a minimum 96 percent grade point average, participate in extra civic activities and volunteer in their community.

Dracut Pop Warner broke records this year with five First Team All Americans Scholars! Fourteen other Dracut youths were named Second Team All Americans Scholars. Congratulations to all the girls and boys for their outstanding achievements.

As a result of their accomplishments, all scholars have been invited to attend the National Pop Warner Scholastic Banquet at Disney World in Orlando, Fla. Special thanks to Tracy Burgoyne and Cheryl Batherwich who served as Dracut Pop Warner Little Scholar Coordinators.
