Blood drive-serenade May 17

The Lowell Gentleman Songsters and the American Red Cross are teaming up to boost the area's blood supply by co-hosting a blood drive on May 17.

The drive will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Donor Center, located in the Village Mall, 436 Broadway, Methuen. The Gentleman Songsters, a barbershop chorus, will perform for donors at 11 a.m.

Anyone 17 and older weighing 110 pounds or more in good health is eligible to donate blood. For more information, call 1-800-448-3543.

Memorial Day volunteers

In preparation for Memorial Day, all deceased Methuen veterans receive flags at their final resting places. We invite you to participate in this commemoration of our veterans service and assist in the placement of flags upon their graves. Rec Dept. outing to Red Sox game

The Recreation Department is sponsoring an excursion to the Red Sox-Seattle game at Fenway Park on June 6. A limited number of tickets are now available at the Recreation Office, 41 Pleasant St., Room 313. Tickets are $35 per person and are being sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Cost includes roundtrip bus transportation. Buses leave the Pelham Street Park and Ride at 5:15 p.m. on June 6. A maximum of four tickets per person may be purchased.
