METHUEN — Police arrested a 29-year-old Dracut resident who allegedly shot a man in the parking lot of a McDonalds on Haverhill Street in Methuen on Friday night.

Rodney Villar was arrested about 10:30 p.m. by Dracut, Lowell and Massachusetts State Police shortly after Methuen police posted Villar's photo on Twitter and described him as the suspect.

Methuen police said in a tweet that Villar will face felony assault charges.

Methuen Police Lieutenant Ron Valliere said on Friday that the shooting allegedly happened after a disagreement that led to an altercation near the fast food restaurant. He added that two vehicles left the scene of the shooting and police were called to the scene at 9:05 p.m. One man suffered one gunshot wound and was taken to Lawrence General Hospital.
