On July 21, Vesper Country Club in Tyngsboro hosted the popular Women's Cities Golf Tournament, celebrating its 20th anniversary. In its two decades, the tournament has raised an amazing $152,000 for scholarships that go to local young women athletes. This year, 20 scholarships of $1,000 were given.

Each year, hundreds flock to this fun family tournament, a one-day shootout between the lovely ladies of Long Meadow, Mount Pleasant, Nabnasset and Vesper! And each year, the committee, with representatives from the four clubs, works extremely hard to raise money to support the annual mission of awarding scholarships to the young female athletes entering college, according to committee member Justine DeFronzo.

This year, the tournament winner was 13-year-old Molly Smith from Long Meadow, and club medalists were Sheila Montminy from Vesper; Molly's sister, Morgan Smith, from Mount Pleasant; and Anne Windhol from Nabnasset. Vesper won the team award. Congratulations to all! You are all huge winners for making a tremendous difference in the lives of young women!
