LOWELL -- A 34-year-old Dracut man was ordered held on $10,000 cash bail as he faces multiple child rape charges for allegedly assaulting a child he knows in Dracut, according to prosecutors.
Bryan Durand was arraigned Friday in Lowell District Court on three counts of aggravated rape of a child and three counts of forcible rape of a child, according to court records.
Little information was released on the case in order to protect the child's identity. A spokeswoman for the Middlesex District Attorney's Office said the alleged victim was known Durand.
Judge Richmond Joseph ordered Durand held on $10,000 cash bail, and ordered that if he posts bail he must stay away from and have no contact with the victim, comply with all regulations of the Department of Children and Families, and have no contact with anyone under the age of 18.
Durand is due back in Lowell District Court on March 8.
His attorney, Frank Colby, did not immediately return a message seeking comment.
