PROVINCETOWN, Mass. (AP) -- Authorities say one man was sent to the hospital with severe burns after a boat caught fire in Provincetown Harbor.

The fire reported just after noon Sunday destroyed the 30-foot vessel and sent black smoke billowing into the sky.

Authorities say the boat started suffering engine trouble shortly after it left dock, which was followed by an explosion that threw both men on board into the water.

The assistant harbormaster rescued them.

The man with severe burns was flown to a Boston hospital. The other man was uninjured. No names were released and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The boat was towed away from other vessels where it burned to the waterline and then capsized.
