WOODSTOCK, N.H. -- New Hampshire officials Monday identified a 19-year-old Dracut man who drowned after jumping into a swift flowing portion of the Pemigewasset River in Woodstock early Sunday afternoon as Nicholas Sann.

Emergency crews responded to the River south of Route 175 at around 1:30 p.m. when it was reported that a swimmer was In distress, according to published reports. Sann was swimming with five other people when he jumped into an area with a strong current and drowned. Sann was found in about 12 feet of water.

Efforts to revive Sann were unsuccessful.
