BILLERICA -- A local man will be arraigned this morning on charges related to kidnapping and assault after allegedly using a back scratcher as a weapon.

Deputy Chief Roy Frost said Monday evening police arrested Keith McDonald, 41, in a domestic incident. McDonald was charged with assault and battery, assault and battery with a deadly weapon, witness intimidation and kidnapping.

Frost noted the deadly weapon in the case was a wooden back scratcher, according to his department's police report. The kidnapping charges again, he said, stemmed from the domestic incident.

"This was not protracted, (and) isolated," Frost said.

Limited information was available on this case from Billerica Police. McDonald will be arraigned later today at Lowell District Court.
