LOWELL -- City police are investigating a home invasion at a home on West 10th Street in the Centralville neighborhood that left two residents with non life-threatening head injuries caused by an expandable baton.

Capt. Kelly Richardson said officers were called to 2 W. 10th St., on Thursday about 11:45 p.m., when a 911 caller reported two armed men forced their way inside the home and assaulted two residents.

One of the suspects brandished a silver handgun, while the other had an expandable baton that was used to strike the residents in the head.

The residents were robbed of cash and jewelry before the suspects fled, according to police.

The suspects were described as a light-skinned Hispanic male wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt with a white shirt underneath, and a dark-skinned Hispanic male. No further description was available.

One of the residents was taken to a city hospital for evaluation, but Richardson said neither injury was life-threatening.
