LOWELL -- The Cross Point office towers have been sold for $100 million to CP Associates LLC, which was formed last month in Delaware.
The sale of the city's most high-profile office space is "indicative that the property is holding its value," said Richard P. Howe Jr., the Middlesex North register of deeds.
The 1.2 million-square-foot Chelmsford Street office complex once sold at auction for only $525,000 after Wang Labs, the buildings' original tenant, filed for bankruptcy.
The $100 million sale, which was recorded Tuesday, will give a $456,000 boost to the state's general fund thanks to a tax on the sale transfer, Howe said.
