LOWELL -- Police were investigating a report of shots fired in the area of 44 Third St., where two Hispanic males were reportedly fighting, according to police-radio broadcasts.
One of men fired shots, according to 911 callers.
Police could be overheard on the scanner indicating that four shell casings were found at the scene in the city's Centralville neighborhood.
No one was apparently wounded in the incident.
Police were busy interviewing potential witnesses and were not immediately available for comment.
Police described the suspect as an Hispanic male, about 5'8, wearing a gray hoodie and shorts. Police said he fled toward Fourth Street.
The other combatant was wearing a black tank top, police said.
