BUZZARDS BAY -- Authorities are waiting for the results of toxicology tests after a Lowell native and her husband were found dead in their Buzzards Bay home last Wednesday.

Police found Jayne and David McCutcheon deceased while performing a welfare check on the couple, according to Cape and Island District Attorney Michael O'Keefe.

Jayne McCutcheon, 49, had worked for Middlesex Community College for 30 years until recently, including many years as executive administrative assistant to President Carole Cowan, according to the obituary.

The couple lived in Windham, N.H., and Buzzards Bay.

The couple's home in Buzzards Bay was at 41 Little Bay Lane, according to The Cape Cod Times. O'Keefe noted police had visited the address a month earlier for a welfare check. O'Keefe would not say how the couple was doing at that time other than they were alive. O'Keefe said the cause of the deaths is pending the results of toxicology tests.

Jayne McCutcheon was a daughter of Robert Blazon, a retired Dracut police officer, and Judith Blazon of Dracut. She was a 1982 graduate of Dracut High School, according to the obituary.
