LAWRENCE -- Crews from the Lowell Fire Department assisted Lawrence officials in putting out a three-alarm fire there early Sunday morning.
Officials were called to the scene at about 3:30 a.m. according to Deputy Fire Chief Brian Murphy. Firefighters were on scene at 5 Garfield St. until 7:30 a.m. working to extinguish flames in an unoccupied wood-frame structure. Murphy estimated there was about $200,000 in damage. There were no reported injuries.
Lawrence Fire was assisted by Lowell as well as Andover and Methuen. The Dracut Fire Department was called into the cover the city's central station, along with officials from Haverhill, North Andover and Salem, N.H.
A cause for the fire is not known at this time.
