SOUTH HAMPTON, N.H. (AP) --A man in South Hampton, N.H., who was carrying a long gun and was reportedly wearing body armor is in police custody, according to state police.

New England Cable News reported that the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office told residents to shelter in place near the area of Route 150 and Route 107A, which have been shut down along with Highland Avenue.

Massachusetts State Police spokesman David Procopio said Massachusetts had moved personnel to the nearby Amesbury, Mass., area and officers are authorized to assist New Hampshire State Police if needed.

Procopio there were no reports of injuries.
