DRACUT -- Dracut High School's Music program attended the recent Festivals of Music Competition in Hanover, N.J.

Students from the Orchestra, Concert Band, Show Choir and Concert Choir performed at the adjudication. The students were accompanied by Jennifer Perkins, Show Choir director; Robin Mallory, Orchestra director; and Zachary Cooper, Band director.

The Orchestra received an "Excellent" rating and won first place.

The Concert Band also earned an "Excellent" rating and came in second place.

The Show Choir and Concert Choir received "Good" ratings and won first place. The Show Choir was also awarded "Overall Highest Scoring Vocal Ensemble" for their performance.

The students celebrated their achievements by visiting New York City, including Times Square, Rockefeller Center, Madame Tussauds wax museum, the Top of the Rock, the 9/11 memorial and Radio City Music Hall, and seeing the musical "Newsies."
