LOWELL -- Police say a Lincoln Street resident who heard what they thought was fireworks Saturday about 3 a.m. awoke later in the morning to discover a bullet hole in their front door.

Officers were called to 84 Lincoln St., Saturday a little after noon, when a resident who was working around the house noticed a bullet hole in the front door.

Police said the resident reported hearing three loud bangs about 3 a.m., but that the resident thought the bangs were from fireworks.

Police said the bullet went through the front door, ricocheted off a wall and hit the ceiling. No one was hurt.

Police also found three spent shell casings on the street in front of the home.

Tipsters can remain anonymous, but can receive up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest.
