BEDFORD -- A school bus driver for The Bedford Charter Service school bus company was cited for failure to use care when stopping after a bus carrying about 18 students rear-ended a car that was stopped on Burlington Road to make a left turn.

Bedford Police said they were called to Burlington Road near Hume Road about 1:15 p.m., when the bus rear-ended a car.

No one on the bus was injured. Another bus was called to the scene to take the students home.

The female driving the car that got rear-ended suffered minor injuries and a cut, according to police. She was taken to Lowell General Hospital.

Police did not immediately identify the driver of the bus, which is owned by The Bedford Charter Service.
