Independent candidate for governor Jeffrey McCormick has tapped a Yarmouth selectwoman as his running mate, introducing Tracy Post as his would-be lieutenant governor on the Cape Thursday morning.

Post, who was elected to the Yarmouth Board of Selectmen in 2010, brings a level of municipal government experience to the independent ticket that McCormack lacks coming from the private sector world of venture capital.

McCormack introduced Post as his pick at the Route 28 Diner in South Yarmouth, and appeared with her in Boston's North End at Dolce Vita Restaurant later in the morning.

Post is an unenrolled voter who works as the office manager of Cape Cod Aggregates, a sand supplier for construction. Two other independent candidates, Evan Falchuk and Scott Lively, are also running for governor.
