BOSTON (AP) -- A Boston realty company being sued for negligence in connection with a fatal fire that killed two city firefighters says it is aware of the lawsuit but has declined to comment further.
Oliver Realty is among the defendants in a lawsuit filed last week by the estate of Michael J. Callahan, which owns the brownstone at 298 Beacon St., the site of last month's fire.
The Callahan estate alleges that the work did not have a city permit, and there was no fire extinguisher or fire resistant shield on site.
Oliver Realty previously said it had contracted the work and understood the welding was to be done offsite.
D & J Iron Works, the welding company Oliver Realty contracted, did not immediately respond to a request for comment Tuesday.
