LOWELL -- Kevin Murphy will be sworn in as city manager on Monday at 10 a.m. in the City Council Chambers.

City Clerk Michael Geary will administer the oath of office for Murphy.

The three remaining members of the city's Statehouse delegation will also participate in the ceremonies for Murphy, who had represented the city in the state Legislature since 1997.

State Rep. Tom Golden, a longtime colleague of Murphy's, will be the master of ceremonies for Monday's event.

State Rep. David Nangle and state Sen. Eileen Donoghue will be part of the speaking program, which will include remarks from Murphy as well.

The public is welcome to attend. The council voted to select Murphy as city manager on March 31. Murphy replaces Bernie Lynch.
