TYNGSBORO -- A Nashua man was flown to a Boston trauma center with serious injuries Saturday afternoon after police responding to a report of people speeding on Pawtucket Boulevard found a motorcycle crash.
Police Chief Richard Howe said officers were initially sent to check Pawtucket Boulevard (Route 133) after someone called police and reported a group of motorcycles was speeding up the road.
Instead of finding speeders, those officers came across a serious motorcycle crash on Chronopoulos Way, according to Howe. Chronopoulos Way is part of Route 133 that was redesigned and moved when the Tyngsboro Bridge was renovated.
Howe said officers found Jason Ferreira, 31, of Nashua, suffering from severe injuries that include a head injury. Ferreira was flown to Brigham & Women's Hospital by a MedFlight helicopter. A hospital spokeswoman said Ferreira was listed in critical condition Saturday night.
Howe said police are investigating whether Ferreira was among the individuals police had gotten a call about or whether the incidents are unrelated.
No charges have been filed.
