HUDSON -- A report of a suspicious package, a brown box left on someone's door step, prompted Hudson Police to evacuate a condominium complex and call in the Nashua Police Department's Hazardous Device Unit to ensure the package was safe on Sunday evening.

Police said they were called to the Elmwood Village Condominium Complex about 6 p.m., when someone reported that the package was suspicious.

Officers arrived to find an "unidentified brown box" on the front step of a unit in the complex.

The Hudson Fire Department helped evacuate residents nearby.

Officers from the Hazardous Device Unit inspected the package and "disrupted it to make it safe," according to police.

An investigation later determined the package was not suspicious in nature. No one was hurt.
