BILLERICA -- Police tracked down two people accused of breaking and entering into residents' homes this week.
First on Tuesday morning, George Harris, 51, of Burlington, was arrested for allegedly attempting to enter a person's home on Simmons Lane and then breaking into a shed in the backyard. The homeowner came home at that time and Harris reportedly fled.
Police found him a short while later walking south on Boston Road. Deputy Chief Roy Frost noted Harris did not appear to have taken anything from the shed and was charged with breaking and entering in the daytime, a felony, as well as an attempt to commit a crime.
Then, Wednesday evening at about 8 p.m., a man was issued a summons after allegedly entering two people's homes on Chatham Road and McGinness Way. Frost said the man appeared to have mental health issues and broken into the homes looking for a former friend who no longer lived there
Kyle Blanchard, 25, of Billerica, has been summonsed for a misdemeanor charge for trespassing and a misdemeanor for breaking and entering with an intent to commit a crime.
Frost noted Blanchard allegedly entered those homes Wednesday night through unlocked doors and startled a sleeping woman in one house.
