LOWELL -- Police say a 33-year-old Lowell woman who fled after her car struck and injured a pedestrian on School Street on Sunday night was drunk, and that she has been convicted of drinking and driving on two previous occasions.

Officers were called to School Street at Payne Street at 8:59 p.m., after someone called 911 to report a man was struck by a car.

The first officer to arrive at the scene immediately said in radio broadcasts that a white Suzuki fled the scene, and he broadcast that vehicle's license plate number to other officers.

Emergency crews treated the pedestrian, Jimmy Im, 46, of Lowell, for non-life-threatening injuries and took him to a city hospital, according to police.

Meanwhile, police found the white Suzuki parked on the side of Broadway Street, near Walker Street, and promptly arrested the driver, Jennie Dul, 33, of 87 Leverette St., Lowell, on charges of operating under the influence of liquor (third offense), leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, and operating after license suspension.

Dul was still being held late Sunday night. She will be arraigned Tuesday in Lowell District Court.
