CHELMSFORD -- Police are looking for a suspect who robbed the Citizens Bank inside Stop & Shop on Chelmsford Street at around 2 p.m. Wednesday.

A white man described as being in his 20s demanded money and left the scene with an unknown amount of cash, said police spokesman Deputy James Spinney. The man did not show a weapon, he said.

The man was described as about 5-foot-9, with "scruffy" facial hair, and wearing a black sweatshirt. He may have left in a new-model two-door Nissan Altima with a sunroof, with several other people inside the vehicle, Spinney said.

Detectives were on the scene gathering more information and were working to find surveillance photos or videos of the suspect, Spinney said.
