The Dracut girls eighth-grade travel basketball team improved their record to 10-1 as they beat Tewksbury 33-29. The Lady Middies did a fine job throughout this contest as they held a double-digit lead until the closing minute of the game.

Fatta Scott (12), Meghan Carney (10), Melissa Iannuzzo (7), Lilly King (2) and Julia Otoski (2) scored points for Dracut. Ashley Armano and Andrea Guerrero pulled down rebounds as Sarah Wilson and Meghan Cox harassed Tewksbury's ball handlers, causing multiple turnovers. Jaxy Marquez made several outstanding passes which led to easy points for the Lady Middies.

Meanwhile, the Dracut boys seventh-grade travel basektball team lost a tough one to Haverhill 53-40. The Middies opened up quick and had an early 15-point lead before the Hilltoppers closed the gap to trail by 5 as the first half ended 28-23 in Dracut's favor.

Haverhill started to heat up after the break with some downtown 3-point shots and pulled ahead to stay as a tired and unfocused Dracut squad blew their huge initial advantage and only scored 12 points in the second half.

Cam McCullough (14), Mitchell Monette (7), Aise Pream (6), Trevor Usher (4), Jaeden Yylton (4), Colby Manzueta (3) and Michael Patterson (2) scored for Dracut. Kevin Carney, William Peters, Tyler Pacheco and Matt Rossetti had rebounds as Jeremy Gray battled to the end for the 14-4 Middies.
