LOWELL -- Waste Management is delaying curbside trash/recycling services one day in Lowell as severe winter weather threatens the region on Wednesday.

The city is asking residents to remove all trash and recycling carts from the curb because of snow-clearing operations on Wednesday.

Trash carts and blue-lid recycling carts must be curbside by 7 a.m. the next service day.

Wednesday pick-up will be on Thursday, Thursday pick-up will be on Friday, and Friday pick-up will be on Saturday.

Residents are being asked to make sure their trash/recycling carts are not obscured by snow or buried in snow banks, and are accessible from the street.

Trash and recycling rules are posted at www.LowellRecycle.org.

For questions or comments, contact the city's solid waste and recycling hotline at 978-674-4309 or e-mail recycle@lowellma.gov.

As of 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Waste Management still planned to collect in Billerica on Wednesday
