LOWELL -- Gov. Deval Patrick was at the Wannalancit Mills in Lowell Tuesday to talk about career innovation and reinvention.
First, the governor visited the Merrimack Valley Sandbox, at 175 Cabot St., to announce the awarding of a $150,000 grant that the nonprofit will use toward the hiring of two additional staffers to assist with the mentoring of budding entrepreneurs.
Later, Patrick participated in a roundtable discussion about pitching the concept of advanced manufacturing, and how to encourage displaced workers in other fields to invest in the necessary education so that jobs can be filled.
The latter event took place at Operon Resource Management, at 660 Suffolk St., which offers health-care production staffing services.
