WILMINGTON -- A Lawrence man was killed and two others injured when their car struck the center median barrier on Interstate 93 and rolled over on Sunday morning.

State Police said the 2003 Acura TL was traveling northbound about 5 a.m. when the accident occured.

Police said two passengers were thrown from the car. A 22-year-old male was found unconscious and did not respond to rescuers at the scene. He was taken to Lahey Clinic and was pronounced dead.

The other passenger, 24, was found 20 feet from the car. Police said he suffered serious injuries that are not life-threatening.

The driver fled the scene, and was found on Ballardvale Street after pulling a fire call box. The driver also suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Both were taken to Lahey Clinic.

Police said they will identify the victims pending notification of next of kin.

The accident is under investigation by troopers from the State Police Andover barracks.
