LOWELL -- A pedestrian was hit by a car on Westford Street in Lowell Friday night, striking the windshield of a Honda and suffering multiple injuries, according to police-radio broadcasts.
First responders requested a MedFlight helicopter to land at Lowell General Hospital for the man who was struck by the Honda Fit at 8 p.m. in front of HB Software Solutions and other businesses at 1075 Westford St., near the Chelmsford line.
Officials said they did not know how serious the injuries are, as well as whether the driver was hurt. The pedestrian was conscious and alert, according to the scanner.
The Honda's windshield was destroyed. Lowell police were conducting accident reconstruction at the scene around 9 p.m.
