BURLINGTON -- A 56-year-old Framingham woman was killed in a crash on Interstate 95 south in Burlington Tuesday afternoon, and state police say it appears the crash was caused by a mattress that fell off a truck that didn't stop.
State police are now asking the public for help locating the truck.
Troopers were called to the southbound lanes of the highway near the Route 3 interchange about 3 p.m. They arrived to find a two-vehicle crash that appeared to have been caused when a mattress fell off the dump truck, according to state police.
State police did not immediately identify the 56-year-old woman, who died of her injuries after being taken to Lahey Clinic in Burlington.
The dump truck is described as a large dump truck with a white cab and a dark bed that had wood on the sides and possibly a tarp or netting over the top. The truck was occupied by two men and was carrying additional mattresses.
Anyone with information on that truck is asked to call the State police Concord barracks at 978-369-4111.
