LOWELL -- NECN reported Thursday morning that legendary news anchor Chet Curtis has died.
Curtis was a cornerstone of the NECN news operation and across four decades, his Emmy-award-winning journalistic touch provided voice and insight to news across the region. For many years, he was employed by Channel 5, WCVB.
He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last year and survived to see one of his daughters get married last summer.
Curtis was 74 years old.
