BILLERICA -- Selectmen Chairman Dave Gagliardi says a good deal of progress has happened under his watch, but there's still plenty of work left to do in town.

As a result, the three-year selectmen wants to give it another go in April, announcing his re-election campaign to The Sun this week.

"I want to continue taking Billerica into the future," said Gagliardi, 59, who's lived in Billerica since 1972. "With the high school project coming, I want to see that through. I want to address filling small businesses across town, and we need to continue drawing major, high-tech businesses.

"When I first ran three years back, I was committed to making decisions based on the information at hand, and not to allow politics to get in the way. I've done that, making the best decisions for the community," he added.

Gagliardi, who lives on Whiting Street, has been a Town Meeting representative since 1995. He also served on the Finance Committee from 2000 to 2011.

Two seats are up for grabs on April 5.
