ABINGTON (AP) -- A U.S. Marine sergeant from Abington killed in Afghanistan is being brought home for the final time.

The body of Sgt. Daniel Vasselian is scheduled to return to Massachusetts on Tuesday. His body will be escorted by police from Logan International Airport to his hometown.

Visiting hours are set for New Year's Day at Quealy and Son Funeral Home in Abington.

A funeral Mass is scheduled for Thursday at St. Bridget Church in Abington followed by burial at Mount Vernon Cemetery.

The 27-year-old Vasselian was killed in combat in Helmand province last week.

Vasselian had just celebrated his fourth wedding anniversary on Dec. 19.
