LITTLETON -- No drugs were found at Littleton High School during a random K-9 search on Wednesday morning, according to school officials.

The Littleton Police Department and area law enforcement officers conducted a K-9 search on Wednesday. The K-9 handlers and their dogs searched classrooms, hallway lockers, parking lots and locker rooms.

Classes remained in session during the search. Students stepped into the hall and were kept away from the dogs when the K-9 units entered classrooms.

"Today's precautionary and random search is part of our continual efforts to ensure a safe and healthy school environment," according to a statement from school officials. "We appreciate the understanding and cooperation of our staff and students. We also thank the officers who participated today and work each day to keep our community safe."
