Information regarding a beloved Hollywood actor getting into a car accident started making its way around social media and news sites last Saturday evening. Before long, everyone knew this actor was Paul Walker, and that the accident was worse than what they may have thought.
Most fans know Paul Walker from the Fast and the Furious movie franchise, which was in production of its seventh film. Walker starred in other popular movies, like Varsity Blues and Eight Below.
Walker had attended a fundraising event in Santa Clarita earlier that day at the Always Evolving car shop, which he owned with friend Roger Rodas. The two men had decided to take one of the cars there, a Carrera GT Porsche, for a 20-minute ride. Sadly, the men never returned, as the accident occurred about 500 yards away from the shop while on their way back.
Police are still investigating the cause of the accident, but it seems that Rodas, who was driving the car, lost control of steering, resulting in a very bad crash with the car becoming engulfed in flames. Before the fire department arrived, friends used extinguishers to try to put out the fire, but the two men already appeared dead. Unfortunately, they could not be saved by professionals.
Fans, friends, celebrities and co-workers have expressed their condolences publicly since Walker's passing. Many have taken to twitter, and others have even gone to the accident site to say their goodbyes, including Walker's Fast and the Furious co-star Tyrese Gibson. Standing at the scene of the tragedy, Tyrese was seen by surrounding by fans and breaking down in tears, laying a single yellow flower to honor Paul.
Walker leaves behind a 15-year-old daughter.
The future of the seventh The Fast and the Furious film is unclear at the moment.
