With temperatures plunging as the evening went on, area police departments dealt with some minor car accidents related to slippery road conditions.

Those accidents included a spinout on Route 2 westbound in Acton, near exit 42 at about 10:25 p.m., according to Massachusetts State Police Concord barracks. The accident caused some damage to the car but did not involve injuries.

Police in Salem, N.H., also reported a few minor accidents. The town's Department of Public Works was salting and sanding the roads. Police in Windham, N.H., also kept busy dealing with minor accidents, although it was not immediately clear if they were related to road conditions.
