LOWELL -- A Littleton man was sentenced to a three to five years in prison after he pleaded guilty to robbing the Northern Bank & Trust branch at 265 Great Road in January.

In Lowell Superior Court Oct. 1, Christopher Grannis, 25, pleaded guilty to unarmed robbery, intimidation of a witness, resisting arrest and escape in connection with the Jan. 15 robbery.

Judge Janet Kenton-Walker sentenced him.

Minutes after Littleton police received a 911 call from Northern Bank & Trust at 11:30 a.m. on Jan. 15, police located Grannis across the street at another bank, watching the aftermath of the robbery.

Police said Grannis handed a teller a note demanding cash. He left the bank with an undisclosed amount and proceeded to run across the street to a Citizens Bank office. Four officers cornered Grannis and arrested him across the street at 11:36 a.m.
