LOWELL -- The case of a 41-year-old former treasurer accused of stealing money from a group that provides athletic programs for special-needs children will be in court next month.
In Lowell District Court last week, prosecutors and the attorney for LaShanta Magnusson, of 41 Roper Lane, Dracut, agreed on date of March 27 to ensure that all information has been provided to both sides, then a trial date can be scheduled.
Dracut police allege that Magnusson allegedly stole $5,515 over about 100 transactions dating to 2010 for the nonprofit Friends of Special Needs Kids.
Magnusson has pleaded not guilty to a single charge of embezzlement by an association member.
