DRACUT -- Mary Karabatsos isn't leaving her post as director of the Dracut Housing Authority anytime soon.
Karabatsos was informed on Monday that the Medford Housing Authority director search has been narrowed to two finalists that do not include her, she said.
"I'm out. There were four finalists, and they knocked two out," said Karabatsos, who was not heartbroken over the news.
"I have no regrets. I honestly love my (Dracut) job. We work very well together out here," Karabatsos said, referring to the Dracut Housing Authority Board of Commissioners.
Karabatsos she doesn't regret having interviewed for the Medford post which would have paid her $22,000 more than her $78,000-a-year salary in Dracut, if hired.
Besides Karabatsos, the other three MHA director semi-finalists were: John Coddington of the Everett Housing Authority, Joseph MacRitchie of the Quincy Housing Authority, and Peter Proulx of the Fall River Housing Authority.
Karabatsos was informed that Coddington and MacRitchie, who both interviewed on Saturday, were named the two finalists, with her and Proulx being eliminated, she said.
