DRACUT -- Ten students from the Dracut High School Music Department were selected to play in the Northeast District Senior Festival Ensembles.

The student musicians were chosen from more than 1,000 who auditioned in the area. They will be participate in the band, orchestra and chorus in the festival on Jan. 12 at Lowell High School.

Dracut students selected include: Shannon Conley, bassoon; Alexander Corcoran, bass; Erin D'Entremont, soprano; Yoobin Kim, violin; Marcus Kuhs, viola; Brittany Petros, flute; Jessica Toupin, soprano; Kimberly Truong, soprano; Samuel Witts, tenor; Nicholas Wojtas, bass.

The Dracut Public Schools Music program will present several performances in upcoming weeks:

* On Wednesday, starting at 7 p.m., the Lakeview Junior High School 7th & 8th Grade Combined Orchestra, 7th & 8th Grade Combined Band, and 7th & 8th Grade Combined Chorus will perform in the Lakeview cafeteria.

* On Thursday, Jan. 31, starting at 7 p.m., the Englesby Intermediate School 6th Grade Band, 6th Grade Chorus, 5th Grade Orchestra, and 6th Grade Orchestra will perform in the Dracut High School auditorium.
