LGH Auxiliary to host Daffodils and Desserts Day
LOWELL -- The Lowell General Hospital Auxiliary will host its annual Daffodils and Desserts Day on Thursday, March 27, at the hospital's main and Saints campuses. The sale will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Dahod Building lobby on LGH's Main Campus at 295 Varnum Ave. and in the main lobby on the Saints Campus at One Hospital Drive.
This will be the first time all money raised will directly support cancer patients in the community, since the American Cancer Society has discontinued its national Daffodil Program due to low participation across the country. Over the past 19 years, the auxiliary has raised $14,500 dollars for the American Cancer Society through its daffodil sales and nearly $24,000 for the hospital and its cancer center through its bake sale, which enables the auxiliary to donate items and equipment to help provide comfort and healing to cancer patients and their families.
In addition to the sales on March 27, the auxiliary is taking prepaid orders for daffodils now through Tuesday, March 18. To place an order, contact Kelly Will at email@example.com or 978-937-6696. Purchasers may order a bunch of daffodils for $10 each or a potted daffodil (three multi-stem bulbs in each pot) for $12.
